    Requirements

    • At least two years of experience working with vulnerable young people in a residential care setting.
    • Qualifications as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration.

    About the Role

    As a Residential Childcare Worker with Horizons Residential Care Limited, individuals will create a nurturing environment that supports children with various needs, including those who have experienced trauma or family breakdowns. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, personal care, emotional development, and maintaining a homely environment. Workers will act as Keyworkers, providing individualized support, developing and implementing care plans, conducting risk assessments, and liaising with local councils and partner agencies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create a homely environment that encourages the development of life skills, self-esteem, and confidence.
    • Act as a Keyworker, providing individualized support and care to assigned young people.
    • Develop and implement care plans, conduct risk assessments, and maintain accurate records.
    • Liaise with local councils, parents, and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
    • Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Perform household tasks such as cleaning and cooking to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
    • Undertake sleep-in duties and on-call responsibilities.

    Shift Patterns

    • Flexible working hours with various shift patterns including 12-hour and 24-hour shifts with an 8-hour sleepover.
    • Shift rota includes 3×24-hour shifts with 24 hours off between each shift and 3.5 days off.
